Mission

Add value to healthcare system to reduce patient wait time and aid doctors

Knowing how to code, I always wondered about the theoretical side of Computer Science. I took AP Computer Science Principles where I developed an understanding of the ethics within computer science. I learned about topics such as legal, ethical, and security concerns when making code and how to make sure that code follows those guidelines. I learned about the ownership of code which allowed me to understand intellectual property. I also learned tips to help create a better program such as creating a flowchart and using pseudo code to plan my program.

I also took outside enrichment courses where I applied what I learned which allowed me to create a stroke predictor in honor of my grandma. As I applied code in real life, I saw the number of tasks that could be achieved with code. Wanting to pursue computer science as a career and major, the topics that I explored and will continue exploring have grown my interest. It has shown and proven to me that computer science is more than just coding at face value. When applied, lives can be saved which is something that I would like to contribute to.
